Brand Collab Announcement: Teaming Up With Parkland College to Teach On-Camera Storytelling
If you spend any time on social media, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the production value of modern content. It feels like every brand and creator has a dedicated film crew following them around. But after years of working in the trenches of brand management and media capture, I’m here to tell you a secret: the most powerful marketing tool you have is already sitting in your pocket.
I’m incredibly excited to announce that on April 2nd, I will be teaching a new course with Parkland College Community Education called On-Camera Storytelling for Creators & Brands.
Throughout my career running a marketing firm, I’ve had the privilege of capturing media and driving brand narratives for a diverse range of organizations. I’ve worked with innovative, forward-thinking teams at Fibonacci Energy, helped shape the financial narratives for Dimensional Wealth and Finance Fitness Finesse, and captured professional brand media for representatives at Northwestern Mutual.
Working with these top-tier companies taught me one universal truth: whether you are a global financial institution or a local startup, the core of your success relies on your ability to tell a compelling story. But more importantly, I learned that a massive production budget cannot save a flat, lifeless message.
Today, authenticity wins. Your audience wants to connect with you.
That is exactly why I designed this course. I want to strip away the intimidation of expensive camera gear and complex editing software. In this hands-on workshop, I’m going to show you how to take the high-level branding principles I use with corporate clients and apply them to your own business using just your cell phone.
Here is what we will tackle in the course:
Finding Your Narrative: How to distill your brand’s mission into a concise, engaging story that stops the scroll.
Smartphone Cinematography: The simple, practical mechanics of framing and lighting a scene using nothing but your mobile device.
The Magic of the Edit: How to take just a couple of raw video clips and stitch them together into a powerful, cohesive message.
On-Camera Confidence: Strategies to get comfortable in front of the lens so your true, authentic self shines through.
You don't need a Hollywood budget to elevate your digital presence. You just need a clear message, a smartphone, and the willingness to hit record.
If you are a creator, an entrepreneur, or a local business owner looking to grow your brand, I would love to see you there.
Join me on Thursday, April 2nd, from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM.Registration is open now at parkland.edu/ceRegister.
